Dr. Wannabemultitasker
I was at Wal-Mart the other day with Luca. As I was strapping him in the seat of the cart, I saw a very well dressed man clipping some sort of dictation device on himself. I had a lot of things on my list to get that day. We went to produce, then through grocery, over to the shampoo on the other side of the store and then back to the frozen goods. As I was choosing which of the BOCA products we were going to have for dinner, I noticed the man with a file in his hand talking seemingly to himself, but really talking to his dictation device. I looked in his cart and he had maybe 5 things in there. He was so busy multi-tasking that he didn't even give himself the luxary of mindlessly walking around Wal-Mart. I felt very sad for this ineffective multi-tasking wanna be. He obviously felt his time was too valuable to waste even twenty minutes picking out food. I WOULD NEVER DO THAT. hmmmmmmm---well no, i am sure that i would be more efficient than he!! haha! but i still want to check my email while i am trying to fix dinner and i am planning the day's schedule as Lars is telling me about a new furniture idea and I am only looking up briefly to say OHHHH BALL!!! to Luca as he is squealing with delight, wanting me to toss the ball to him. Oh i need to slow down...and so does my doctor friend. we would probably be needing less of Dr. Wannabemultitasker if we would just slow down and enjoy what we are doing rather than wanting to always get to the next thing. i am sure that the good doctor would appreciate being a little less busy, as i would
