So Lars and I have realized lately just how much Luca hears and understands. We think that he is playing quietly in the back seat or watching his video...but he has his mother's sense of being able to be in several conversations (or activities) at the same time. Yesterday we read a library book about moving. It wasn't super emotional...just a simple story of a family relocating and the kids reactions to all the noises at night, lack of flowers outside, not having any friends, etc. I choked back tears as I thought that Luca won't have his best buddies Sam and Libby (not related to the shoes!) to play with. We won't be able to have Grandpa just pop by on long afternoons to keep us company. I can't think about this stuff. I may never leave then!
So after we read the book, Luca and I talked about moving. I asked him if he knew where we are going to be moving and he told me "Ireland." And when I asked him if he knew who we were moving with, he got this little grin on his face and told me, "Mark and Ange." Ok...we can do this. I told him about Nick, Jeanette and Anderson, too. He is curious if Anderson has good toys! Anderson is sandwiched right in between my two as far as age.
This morning at breakfast, Luca told us that the place we're moving is one of those big jump castles
Ya know, like the ones at expensive birthday parties or carnivals! I thought for a minute and seeing as how I am the expert of deciphering Luca's language and train of thought, I figured it out.
Oh....we're moving to NEWCASTLE, Northern Ireland, NOT into a JUMP CASTLE!!! Oh boy...he's in for a surprise.
