Silas

My sweet baby Silas is a little over 6 months now. He weighs 16.4 lbs and is 27.5 inches long. He long and skinny. He is a happy guy now as long as he is with mom! No more reflux or colic! I have said so many times that i thought Luca was a mama's boy, until I met Silas! Now I know what a mama's boy really is. Silas lives on my right hip for most of the time.
He is sitting up now..although a bit wobbly

He's eating a variety of foods 2 or 3 times a day---rice cereal, avocado, sweet potato, oatmeal, banana, peas & we'll try pears today.

He adamantly refuses to take a bottle, but will take sips from cups without a lid. He adores Luca & is often comforted by him. They share a bedroom now & I am so glad to have my room back....he is so noisy that I wasn't getting much sleep! Luca thinks its cool to have baby brother with him.

From March, 2006---a blog entry about Luca at the same age. Its fun to see how they are the same and how they are different. They both sat up at the exact same age and have that concentrating stare. I think that Silas will be eager to crawl sooner than Luca though. Luca was content to sit and play from 6 months to 10 months. Silas on the other hand has someone moving and shaking all the time right in front of him, so he may have more motivation. We'll see--I'm in no rush for him to mobile.

Hey Everybody,
Look at me! I am six months old now and am already over 20 lbs! I make mama’s back hurt sometimes, but I don’t think she minds too much. I am doing all kinds of things now, like sitting up on my own....well almost anyway! I also eat cereal, avocados, bananas and sweet potatoes, too. I really hate those sweet potatoes though! Yuck! I have two little teeth on the bottom so you better watch out if you put your hands in my mouth! Take this as your warning-- I do bite! I am very interested in the world around me, especially people, toys, books, lights and plastic bags, but mama won’t let me play with those bags. Sometimes I cry when mama and daddy leave the room, but not always. It’s not so terrible to be on my tummy anymore. I don’t like it much, but I hear that crawling is cool, so I better start trying. Well I am a busy baby so I better get back to doing what I do best.
Yours drooly,
Luca
