We had a house showing today and also one last night. It was kind of strange because when we got home last night there was a tiny pink rose in an empty hot sauce bottle on our table.(we didn't put that there). The realtor that showed the house was not ours and so they always leave their cards to show who was here, etc. Anyhow, it was funny b/c the face on the card was a guy that i went on a set-up double date with in high school! (obviously it didn't go anywhere!)
Would he give me a rose? A tiny pink one that was from some stranger's garden?? Then we remembered dear Shirley from next door! Aha! She was the culprit. She is a great lady, but has her quirks. Great! The potential home buyers get to meet the crazy neighbor before they even think about a purchase agreement...
Then today the showing was from 12-1 (or so I was told by the realty office). I came home at 1 to find that no one had been here. Our sweet house, all dressed up with nowhere to go, had been stood up. I gave the kids some more lunch as they were still hungry and counted down the minutes until nap time. At 1:35, two cars pull up and out hops the realtor. I explained that i had expected them earlier, but she could give me a minute and I could gather the kids and go.
The sweetest couple looked at the house. They are mid twenties and the girl said that just yesterday they found out that they are expecting their first baby. The guy is pretty handy evidently and they are interested in making more bedrooms in our big attic. I wish that we were selling by owner so we could have a chance to get to know them if they choose to make an offer.
