The GREAT compromise

In case you haven't noticed I am not writing very many blogs. It is not the lack of desire to do so, it is the come-home-from-work-dead syndromem that is the real root issue here. However this evening I have had my weekly cappucino @ church and I am unleashed once again. The cappucino thing is sort of a ritual for me and if for some reason my way to the espresso machine is blocked it can upset the balance of my life for the next week. Every week I try to perfect my latte art, which is the art of making the milk in your latte (or cappucino) look like something. Maria participates with her gift of latte art interpretation, which is a very rare gift. She can see a poodle or frog where most people would just see plain frothy milk...Alass a gift!
I have received a few comments on the Flat land blog and I am happy that people have finally realized that I am not a mountain dweller and definitely not a climber!!!
A few weeks ago we had one of those moments in marriage where time stood still. In this moment I am still not sure if I am completely myself yet. The first year of marriage you usually find out a bunch of things that you did not know about your spouse, but then life sort of settles into the I like you and love you inspite of your weirdness kind of a life. But then Maria dropped a very serious bomb on me..........hey Lars, I want a doggy! WHAT?? I could not believe that I had just heard the word doggy from Maria. I could blame her uncle John for dog sitting a little furry sausage over Christmas. Maria fell in love with the idea that we would have a 'man's best friend' too! I could add a few ideas about how I think the idea of 'man's best friend came about But.....but I will not get into that hornet's nest.
My wonderful wife was quick to volunteer to walk the dog and even feed it. My question about who's responsibility it would be to clean up the yard, made it very clear to me that we would never untildog untill they invent one that does not poop. I have seen a new service company in Muncie, but I am not sure we could afford their services. The name of the company is called 'Beyond the call of Doody'. I will leave you to wonder about what it is they do for the wealthier part of our population.
As usual I have made a very short story long. I guess you could call it procrastination of the punchline: We bought 2 goldfish as a good compromise, King and Bridget. They can stay as long as they don't pee on the rug.....we don't live that far from Buck creek and the White river.

I am not posting a picture of the goldfish this week, but I thought I would put a picture of my dear brother Kristian on there. He and Luca both look great in stripes. We hope to see Kristian and his wife Betina here in Muncie this Spring.....watch out!
