The little big picture

I was just sitting in my chair and a thought popped into my head. Better catch it before it is gone! I have always been fascinated with those pictures you see that show one thing, but up close they are really a compilation of many different pictures that make one bold statement.
I am such a dreamer, I never stop thinking about ideas, inventions and adventures. My favorite thing is to sit down and design pieces of furniture inside of my head. In my head the furniture looks ready to be sat on, slept in or ate at; but the pieces do not come with a manual on how to put them together or how the wood must be cut or glued in order to make it what I see.
When I close my eyes I can see how I would like to make our house look, but when I open them I see that there are many steps before I reach that goal. I am not a lazy person, but when the fact is that the house has many unfinished projects. That one thing needs to be done so that the house can look this certain way, but that thing over there also needs it. for example one window is painted and another left undone. one door is painted one left undone.
Why do I love the big picture so much. I wish that I could sit down and finish one small picture and another one, and another one.
This is not just about painting trim, this is so much more, it is me, what I do with life. Refusing the little job so that I can enjoy the idea of the big picture, that really is so small.
