Apple pickin', part 2

I love cold drinks. I like hot coffee in the morning...good quality from a French Press, preferably...but that's beside the point. When we think of cider, we often think of hot cider, even though its bought refrigerated. Well, a few years ago, I had a frozen cider slushie. I know you may be thinking that it would just involve cold cider and ice, which is true, but really good cider blended with the right kind of crushed, not cubed, ice in an industrial grade blender, it brings a whole new idea to this 2 ingredient liquid dream.
I first experienced this delicious treat when I took Luca to an orchard in Mooresville, called Anderson Orchards.
where we met my sister. She had been there before and had gone on and on about this place. She was right...it was worth the drive! So, we looked around for a few minutes at all the gourds, pumpkins, mums, Indian Corn, baked goods, etc, then we grabbed our slushies.

By the look on his face, I think my sister may have just assisted in his first brain freeze!

The place is big....or maybe it just felt that way because I was carrying 23 lbs in the front...there were so many different varieties of apples and that it took awhile for us to meander through the orchard and fill our sack. You can drive, too...but we weren't into that.
